In perhaps the most significant day in Black Catholic history thus far—on the final day of the Church Year, the penultimate day of the 30th anniversary of Black Catholic History Month, and the feast day of the only Vatican-approved Marian apparition in Africa—Wilton Cardinal Gregory is being installed as the first-ever African-American cardinal.
