Entering its 42nd year, Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA)'s Institute for Black Catholic Studies (IBCS) is holding an informational webinar tomorrow, March 1st, at 5pm CST.
Intended for prospective graduate degree students, the event will cover this year’s course offerings in the program, as well as the admissions process.
Founded in 1979, IBCS has served now for 4 decades as a uniquely Black Catholic educational program, instructing priests, religious, and laypeople in a one-of-a-kind patrimonial tradition. The institute covers history, theology, liturgy, psychology, ministry, and a variety of other topics in its curriculum.
Though IBCS offers a Masters of Theology (ThM) as well as a certificate program, tomorrow's webinar will focus on the former, offering an opportunity to meet the faculty and staff, and ask questions about the upcoming session.
2021 will mark the second year in a row that IBCS classes have occurred virtually, after in-person activities were forgone last year for the first time in the institute's history. Like this year's session, tomorrow's webinar will be conducted via Zoom.
