The Knights of Peter Claver and Ladies Auxiliary continues their webinar series this weekend, this time covering a COVID-related topic on the minds of many of the faithful.
“Financially Surviving a Pandemic” will stream live on Saturday, March 20th, at 11am CST, led by a team of professionals from a variety of backgrounds—including law, business, finances and the priesthood.
The event is the third in a series put on by the Knights and Ladies’ social justice committee, following last week’s on human trafficking.
One of the speakers, Franchesca L. Hamilton, is a senior attorney at Acadiana Legal Service, as well as the head of their Child in Need of Care (CINC) unit, which provides free legal services to Louisianans in foster care.
Jerry Cousin, Jr., another panelist, is the founder of C-Squared Hospitality and recently earned recognition on a statewide 40 Under 40 businesspeople list in Hawaii.
Sheri Lawal-Price, Vice-President of Marketing and Business Development at Unity National Bank—the only Black bank in Texas—will also be featured.
Perhaps the most unique person on the docket is Fr Michael Thompson, SSJ, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in DC and former superior general of the Josephite society. He worked in business before answering the call to the priesthood.
The webinar is free and will be held on Zoom. Register here.
Nate Tinner-Williams is co-founder and editor of Black Catholic Messenger, in priesthood formation with the Josephites, and a ThM student with the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA).
